The second-hand marketplace Shoppers Share Displeasure Regarding Sizing Modifications
Vinted users have been reacting angrily due to a modification that led to products showing incorrect sizing.
This online marketplace has altered its measurement guidelines for women's and children's clothes failing to inform all shoppers about the modification.
Online Platforms Backlash
Many shoppers and sellers have taken to social media stating that platform listings now display a different size category versus the original listing as a result of the reclassification.
The platform stated the updated approach better aligns with similar services.
The platform has recommended to check their listings and update the measurements by hand when needed, causing user dissatisfaction.
Measurement Approach Changes
Previously, the measurements included a single numeric size and a letter, such as S/8 or M/10.
The revised method features a letter with a size spectrum like S/UK 8-10.
In some cases, the size labels have been reassigned - such as a large size was formerly size 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18.

One content creator, who produces content about larger sizing, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling".
"Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," as the platform currently indicates.
Stephanie Gallen, based in Glasgow, explained products she uploaded featuring size 14 markings were showing in the marketplace as measurements 20-22.
"If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they're going to be very disappointed," she explained.
Manual Updates
Charlotte Lunn, located in England, said she had been left angered because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizing for "all her products".
"Personally, this is quite irritating, since I have chronic health issues and Vinted sales have been crucial following partial earnings loss," she explained.
Marketplace Information
The app has more than 100 million shoppers, with 18 million British users.
It has emerged as a preferred choice compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop.
This represents another occasion where an unanticipated change to the app has proved unpopular: earlier, Vinted reversed a change concerning shipment methods due to shopper criticism.
